STAR Flight 1 responded to Enchanted Rock for a 50 yr old male that had fallen (height of 25' onto back) while rock climbing. Upon arrival on-scene, SF crew were informed that ground EMS along with Park Rangers had stabilized and immobilized the patient on a backboard, but the victim remained in an area that had restricted access/egress. Decision was made to hoist out the patient. A STAR Flight rescuer was inserted and the victim packaged and hoisted to an area where he could be put in the helicopter for transport.
